Vacancy: GIS specialist

We provide solutions that allow them to get started effectively.

Furthermore, we provide analyses that support and facilitate our clients’ strategy and operational decision-making process.

What will you do?

Workplace: at your client’s, Geo office/hub, at home

As a GIS Specialist, you will work in-house with our clients, working with your client to solve geographic issues and translate complex spatial data into actionable insights.

Your duties are diverse and may include one or more of the responsibilities listed below. We will consider your expertise, talents and interests.

Some of your duties include:

• Collect, process, analyze and visualize geographic data using GIS software (such as ArcGIS, QGIS).
• Develop maps, models and reports to provide clients with clear and actionable insights.
• Assist in setting up GIS databases, web-GIS solutions and automating workflows.
• Advise clients on GIS issues. This includes understanding their needs and challenges and translating them into a practical solution.
• Collaborate with project teams to solve spatial issues and optimize data analysis.
• Keeping GIS files and documentation up-to-date.

In addition, you will be part of a like-minded team at Geo Solutions. You will participate in knowledge sharing within your team by sharing your expertise with colleagues through workshops, presentations or informal sessions.

What do we expect from you?

To participate in the above projects, we ask of you:

• A degree in geography, as a bioengineer, in computer science, IT or similar
• You look back on at least 3 years of experience with GIS software.
• You can translate a customer process into an implementation
• You have strong communication skills to engage with our customers and translate customer processes into implementation.
• You are strongly analytical and can work independently, but also function well in a team.
