Your responsibilities

This is what you will do as a Data Scientist Location Intelligence

To expand our team, we are looking for a Data Scientist who likes to sink his or her teeth into complex problems. Your job duties prove that not only the title (because say it … ) but also the content of your job is cool:

• You translate business needs into data requirements, and you can communicate them clearly.
• You predict the future based on lessons from the past. Because the data always has the last word.
• You estimate the potential of use cases through initial exploratory screening. In doing so, you put on both skeptical and opportunistic glasses.
• You search your way through disparate data sources, clean up data where necessary, distill information from data sources using AI, and bring it all together for further modeling.
• You will develop predictive models as building blocks for concrete applications. In doing so, you will use your statistical knowledge and machine learning methods.

Because you have a lot going for you. We are looking for a Data Scientist who knows his or her craft inside out, but also fits within our open and innovative culture:

• You have a master’s degree in IT, engineering, applied sciences or you are equivalent through experience.
• As a chameleon, you speak the language of business and IT experts as well as your fellow Data Scientists. You communicate fluently with different profiles.
• You are familiar with feature engineering, model fitting and model evaluation.
• Independently develop prototypes and demonstrate their value? You can do that like no other. Your strong statistical knowledge and experience with machine learning algorithms will help.
• You have hands-on experience with SQL, R and/or Python. This is how you uncover new insights each time.
• You have already worked with data science libraries (such as TensorFlow, Torch and Keras) and Big Data technologies (such as Hadoop or Spark).
• You are always thinking out of the box, unless you are building classifiers.
• New developments you follow closely, and you share them with your colleagues. You know all the trends!
• You have an edge over other candidates if you have knowledge or experience with:
  • Big data platforms such as Azure, Google Cloud Platform or AWS
  • Data modeling and ETL tools
  • The application of machine learning algorithms in a geo context
  • BI tools, such as Qlik, PowerBi or Cognos.
